Journalists Lawrence Wright and Jim Lehrer talked about the political atmosphere of Dallas leading up to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and the changes to the city since then. Mr. Wright, who was a Dallas high school student in 1963, recalled the day President Kennedy was killed as well as the subsequent backlash against the city. Both talked about the political environment in Dallas leading up to the assassination. Mr. Lehrer reflected on how Dallas has changed since the assassination, and commented that while the shooting was a national tragedy, it halted some of the acidic rhetoric that used to come out of Dallas. close
