At a recent event on U.S. - Asia relations, panelists were asked about the impact of President Obama canceling his Asia trip during the government shutdown. A Japanese Embassy official taking part in the event said "in Asia, showing up means a lot". The Foreign Policy Initiative hosted event also included Rep.
