A panel discussion was held analyzing the political response to the 2008 economic crisis and the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), the $700 billion program intended to stabilize the financial markets. Among the speakers was former House Financial Services Committee Chair Barney Frank, who said the TARP program stands as the most highly successful but wildly unpopular thing the government has ever done. Andrew Ross Sorkin moderated.
