International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano talked about the role of his agency in promoting the peaceful use of atomic energy along with monitoring national nuclear programs. Topics included proliferation in North Korea, Iran, and Syria. Mr. Amano said that recent talks with Iran had been productive with Iran agreeing to resolve past and current issues through cooperation and dialogue.
