President Bush met with reporters to discuss the federal government’s response to Hurricane Andrew in Florida. He announced that 7,000 federal troops were moving into Florida to help repair damage from the disaster and that he would send more troops as was necessary. He said that the military response had been “massive.” The president also answered questions from reporters about the natural disaster. Several military officials accompanied President Bush into the Rose Garden and one of the officials gave him the response to a question. close
