President Obama on the Affordable Care Act President Obama made a statement regarding implementation of the Affordable Care Act and its Healthcare.gov Web site. In his remarks he said that Americans could keep canceled health insurance policies for a year as companies and consumers adjusted to the new demands of the health care law. He also said that insurance companies must also notify customers of what those policies lack, and of options consumers have for better coverage under the new law. Afterward, he answered questions from reporters. The president opened his remarks by commenting on the tragedy of the cyclone in the Philippines. Other topics included Iran and immigration. close
