Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) spoke to reporters about her bill that would allow some Americans to keep insurance plans that do not meet the minimum required benefits in the 2010 health care law. She said she would continue exploring legislative options to prevent health insurance companies from cancelling people’s policies. She called President Obama’s announcement on the issue a welcome first step, but said some of the his directives may require congressional action in order to be enforced. close
