The Alliance for Health Reform held a panel discussion with health insurance professionals about health care costs. Specifically, panelists asseessed health care price caps and the use of “reference pricing” by employers. This strategy allows employees to obtain insurance plans that set price caps. However, if the enrollees use insurance providers with fees higher than the “reference price” they must then pay the difference. close
