Mirta Ojito talked about her book, Hunting Season: Immigration and Murder in an All-American Town, in which she looks at hate crimes against Latinos in the U.S., which she argues have been increasing in frequency as the anti-immigration backlash grows. In her book, Ms. Ojito tells the story of Marcelo Lucero, a 37-year-old Ecuadorean immigrant who was beaten to death by a group of teenagers on Long Island in 2008. She spoke at Book Culture in New York City. close
