Witnesses testified on the various issues related to the regulation of online gaming and enforcement of the Internet Poker Freedom Act. The act would establish a program for licensing Internet poker nationwide. Geoff Freeman said that prohibition of online gaming would never work and create a thriving black market. Other topics included the lack of consumer protections and the interpretation of the Interstate Wire Act, which prohibits the use of wire communications for the interstate facilitation or transfers of wagers. close
