Telephone lines were open for viewer comments on House Speaker John Boehner’s response to a reporter’s question about opposition to the agreement reached by the chairs of the Budget Conference Committee. Speaker Boehner accused them of “using our members and...the American people for their own goals” and said, “This is ridiculous.”

Ginger Gibson gave an update by phone on the latest news concerning the agreement reached by the chairs of the Budget Conference Committee. She also talked about the bill’s timing for passage before the end of the 2013 session as well as House Speaker John Boehner’s pushback against conservative groups who have been lobbying members to vote against the deal.

The program concluded with a clip from the previous day’s Senate session in which Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) defended the Democrats' vote to change the filibuster rules on certain presidential nominations. close
