Barbara Matilsky talked about the Whatcom Museum’s “Vanishing Ice: Alpine and Polar Landscapes in Art, 1775-2012” exhibit. The exhibit traced the history of Earth’s frozen frontiers within the context of climate change. She detailed artwork highlighting changes in the world’s glaciers from the late 18th century to today, and spoke about why this body of work is important to Washington State.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Bellingham, Washington, from December 9-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
