Jay Carney briefed reporters and answered questions on a number of issues. Regarding South Sudan, he said that circumstances had worsened following new reports of violence. He announced that the U.S. embassy is closed in the country and urged the South Sudanese government to open up critical points of entry, including airports. He also announced that Microsoft executive Kirk DelBene would manage the Healthcare.gov Web site. close
