Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and Philippine Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima spoke to the press after their meeting in the Treasury Department about the U.S.-Philippines economic relationship. Secretary Lew said the Treasury Department would be providing robust technical assistance to support implementation of the Philippine economic policy. He also emphasized the continued support from the U.S. for efforts to recover from Typhoon Yolanda, also known as Typhoon Haiyan. Secretary Purisima spoke not only of recovery efforts for Typhoon Yolanda, but of efforts to address climate change, natural disasters, and their fiscal impacts. close
