Historians talk about the work of history museums and whether or not graduate programs are preparing students for careers in both academic and public history. Panelists included historians who are employed in a variety of positions at history museums. They spoke about the work they do and the ways in which their doctoral training did and did not prepare them for their museum careers.

This session was part of the 2014 annual meeting of the American Historical Association, and was hosted by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. close
