At the annual American Economic Association meeting, Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke gave a presentation,"The Changing Federal Reserve: Past, Present and Future." He discussed the financial crisis, economic improvement, and the banking system. In his final speech as Federal Reserve chair, he said that he believed the U.S. economy could see stronger growth in 2014. He added that the factors that had affected the recovery appeared to be abating. Professors Rogoff and Kashyap added their reflections. Professor Kashyap also showed a video tribute to Chair Bernanke. The panelists responded to questions from members of the audience. close
