Private Sector STEM Programs, Educators Panel A House Science, Space and Technology subcommittee held a hearing focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education initiatives developed and conducted by the private sector and universities. The first panel included the founders of Code.org, which promotes computer science education, and the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) organization, which holds national robotics competitions. The hearing included a second panel of high school students who had participated in the FIRST program. Videos were shown. close
