Librarian Sean Lanksbury toured the Special Collections of the Washington State Library, which houses a collection of over 900 rare books purchased by Washington’s first governor, Isaac Stevens. Governor Stevens purchased the books to create a makeshift library for the people of the newly formed state.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Olympia, Washington, from January 13-16 to feature the history and literary life of the community.
