Trova Heffernan talked about her book, An Election for the Ages, in which she chronicles Washington State’s 2004 gubernatorial race between Dino Rossi and Christine Gregoire. At the conclusion of election night, out of 2.8 million votes, only 261 separated the candidates. After two recounts and multiple lawsuits, Gregoire was declared the winner by 133 votes. Sam Reed, who was Washington’s Secretary of State, also spoke about the election.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Olympia, Washington, from January 13-16 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. close
