Members of a federal advisory committee conducting an independent review of the systems for handling cases of adult sexual assault in the military made their final deliberations following testimony from three panels. They considered whether or not to remove authority from commanders, and then made a preliminary decision to maintain the chain of command in dealing with assault cases. The panel was made up of four congressional-picked members and five picked by the Pentagon. close
