Jason Furman, the chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, spoke with reporters at the daily White House briefing. He commented on the Congressional Budget Office’s latest report on the country’s debt, deficit, and the economy. He also responded to questions from the reporters. A major topic was “Appendix C” of the report, which analyzed the impact of the Affordable Care Act on the economy. While the CBO reported that 2.5 million jobs would be cut because of the health care law, Mr. Furman said that would be the result of the health subsidies that come with the law giving workers more “choice.”
