European Union Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht gave the keynote speech at an Atlantic Council forum on the negotiation of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the United States and the European Union. In his remarks he said that talks with the U.S. on a free trade agreement are “on track,” with some of the toughest issues slated for negotiations later in the year. Some of the unresolved issues included access for U.S. agricultural products and differences between American and European financial regulations. close
