Alice Rivlin and Douglas Holtz-Eakin debated a Congressional Budget Office report finding that raising the minimum wage would cost jobs. Ms. Rivlin was in support of raising minimum wage regardless of job loss because of the number of people it would raise out of poverty. Mr. Holtz-Eakin was against it, calling a minimum wage increase a “terrible anti-poverty tool.”
