Witnesses testified on the economic effect of Alzheimer’s Disease in the U.S. and the latest science and research. National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins used slides as he talked about the latest science. He told senators that federal investment in Alzheimer’s research paled in comparison to how much it cost the country to care for the patients afflicted. Talking about the importance of funding research, former Representative Dennis Moore (D-KS) testified about his problems living with Alzheimer’s and actor Seth Rogen spoke about his mother-in-law’s straggle with the disease. close
