Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Joint Chiefs Chair General Martin Dempsey testified on the fiscal year 2015 defense budget request. It included $495.6 billion in spending, roughly the same as the fiscal year 2014 budget, and shrank the overall size of the U.S. armed forces. Secretary Hagel also updated the committee on the crisis in Ukraine, saying the U.S. was stepping up joint aviation training with Poland and increasing participation with NATO air policing mission in the Baltic. close
