British Foreign Secretary William Hague addressed his parliamentary colleagues in the House of Commons to report on his meeting with leaders in Kiev on March 2, 2014. He summarized the recent developments in Ukraine and gave the United Kingdom’s response. He condemned Russia’s military actions and urged that direct talks be held between Ukrainian and Russian governments. Foreigh Secretary Hague announced to members that the U.K. had pulled out from preparations for the G-8 Summit to be held June 2014 in Sochi, Russia, as well as refusing to send government officials to the Paralympics Games in Sochi later that week. He responded to questoins from the members. close
