Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Commissioner Mignon Clyburn gave the opening keynote address at the Free State Foundation day-long conference on the Federal Communications Commission and telecommunications policy. She disputed the argument for increased deregulation, citing the FCC’s policy on Wifi had led to a billion dollar wireless industry. She also said that marketplace realities show that the FCC cannot be in “standby” mode. close
