Burton Folsom talked about his book, Uncle Sam Can’t Count: A History of Failed Government Investments, from Beaver Pelts to Green Energy, which he co-wrote with his wife Anita. In the book, they argue that government bailouts didn’t begin with the financial crisis of 2008 or with Chrysler twenty years earlier. Instead, they argue, the U.S. government has been investing in private industry since the country was founded. He spoke with National Review Online’s Exchequer blogger Kevin Williamson. close
