Harvey Kaye talked about his book, The Fight for the Four Freedoms: What Made FDR and the Greatest Generation Truly Great, in which he recalls President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s public acknowledgement on January 6, 1941, of “four freedoms” with which all people should be entrusted, including freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. The author talked about the progressivism of the Roosevelt-era and argued that a reminder of the “four freedoms” could address today’s political and social issues.
