Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) delivered the weekly Republican address. He talked about the Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills (SKILLS) Act that would help the unemployed and underemployed learn new job skills and that would consolidate duplicate federal workforce training programs “into one flexible Workforce Investment Fund.” The legislation had been passed by House, but when he introduced it in the Senate it was blocked by the Democrats. close
