Susan Stranahan talked about the book Fukushima: The Story of a Nuclear Disaster, an account of the 2011 tsunami and resulting meltdown at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. Ms. Stranahan co-authored the book with members of the Union of Concerned Scientists. In the book, the authors also explore the probability of such an accident happening elsewhere, and examine new safety precautions that could be employed to prevent future plant failures. She spoke with former Chair of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Gregory Jaczko. close
