John Sillito, co-author of History of Utah Radicalism: Startling, Socialistic, and Decidedly Revolutionary, talked about the history of the socialist movement in Utah. During the first two decades of the 20th century, radicalism reached its peak of political influence in Utah. At least 115 Socialists were elected to public office and on seven occasions controlled governments of five different municipalities.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Ogden, Utah, from April 5-11 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast Cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
