C-SPAN Classroom’s StudentCam video documentary contest is an annual national competition in which middle and high school students produce a documentary on a specific theme. In the 2014 contest, “A Message to the U.S. Congress,” participants were asked, “What’s the most important issue Congress should consider in 2014?” Out of more than 2,300 videos submitted, five videos and the 13 students who produced them earned top honors. Five of those students came to Washington, D.C.. where they discussed their winning entries and the topics they chose. Their videos were shown.
