Antitrust attorneys, representatives of small cable networks, content providers, and Internet service providers testified on the proposed Comcast Corporation-Time Warner Cable merger. The witnesses addressed the positive and negative implications of the merger. In his opening statement, Comcast Executive Vice President David Cohen said the proposed acquisition would drive market innovation, with the ultimate beneficiary being the American consumer. Conversely, American Cable Association CEO Matthew Polka said the merger would lead to higher prices and few choices.
