Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) called on Republicans to support passage of S. 2223, a bill that would raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 over two years. He said that the Koch Brothers would “score” their votes on the issue in order to threaten Republicans. He mocked a statement by Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI) during the presidential campaign that many people are “moochers,” mentioning that former Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) and many business organizations support a minimum wage increase. close
