Michael Sims talked about his book, The Adventures of Henry Thoreau: A Young Man’s Unlikely Path to Walden Pond, in which he recounts Henry David Thoreau’s formative education and the intellectual path that led to his writing career, which included his authorship of Walden. In his book, the author reports that the Harvard graduate, who built a cabin on Ralph Waldo Emerson’s property where he lived and wrote for over two years, was more than the recluse he is popularly remembered as. Instead, he focuses on Thoreau’s political activism. Michael Sims spoke at the Concord Bookshop in Concord, Massachusetts. close
