The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee held a confirmation hearing to consider the nomination of Sylvia Mathews Burwell to be Health and Human Services Secretary. This was her first confirmation hearing as President Obama’s nominee to replace Kathleen Sebelius as head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) introduced Ms. Burwell and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) praised her experience. close
