House Armed Services Chair Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-CA) talked about the fiscal year 2015 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the future of national security. Topics included the NDAA process, the Obama administration’s national security policies, and the impact of those policies on defense capabilities. Addressing cuts to the Pentagon’s budget, Representative McKeon said “this is the last year we’ll be able to triage the pain…next year it will really hurt.” He was also critical of President Obama’s foreign policy, saying that the administration had “no coherent strategy.” close
