Telephone lines were open for viewer comments on the topic of former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s comment on the minimum wage, “We ought to raise it.” There were special lines for those who earn the minimum wage and for business owners. A video clip was shown of the interview on MSNBC the previous day. A video clip was also shown of Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen speaking about the minimum wage at a hearing May 8, 2014. Also shown were video clips from the previous day of Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) talking about the establishment of a select committee about the 2012 Benghazi attack and of Representative John Mica (R-FL) at a hearing about marijuana.

The program concluded with a video clip of House Appropriations Committee Chair Hal Rogers (R-KY) being interviewed the previous day for “Newsmakers.” close
