Tom Wheeler testified at a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) oversight hearing. Much of the hearing focused on the FCC’s proposed rule that would allow content providers such as Netflix to pay for guaranteed “fast lane” service. The rule was in response to court decisions challenging the FCC’s “net neutrality” rules based on the idea that Internet providers must allow all legal content to move through their networks uninhibited. Another topic included the upcoming broadcast spectrum auction. close
