President Obama made remarks at the signing of his executive order that designates the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks in southern New Mexico as a national monument. He talked about the historical significance of the area and the economic benefits of protecting it. This was the 11th area he had designated and President Obama said that he would continue to act to protect the land. close
