Kai Bird talked about his book, The Good Spy: The Life and Death of Robert Ames, in which he chronicles the life and career of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative Robert Ames. In his book, Mr. Bird argues that Ames, who worked for the CIA’s Middle East Directorate of Operations before his death, was one of the most important and successful operatives in the history of the organization. Robert Ames was killed in the suicide bombing of the U.S. embassy in Beirut in 1983. This event was held at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. close
