M. Night Shyamalan on Education Policy
M. Night Shyamalan talked about his book, I Got Schooled, and his efforts to fight against the educational achievement disparity between lower and higher income students. He described the “education gap,” comparing students from suburban areas versus inner city kids. He argued that a huge contributor to the problem was the level of activity during the summer months, and said the disparity was not about a kid’s ability but more than about resources and teacher preparation. close
