President Obama announced plans to take executive actions on immigration reform after House Speaker Boehner told the president that Congress would not be voting on any immigration legislation in 2014. The two main actions included directing Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Attorney General Eric Holder to shift immigration enforcement resources from the interior section of the U.S. to the border, and getting recommendations on additional legal actions he could make unilaterally. Topics included the naturalization of members of the armed services. close
