The foreign ministers of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras participated in a panel discussion on the increase in the number of unaccompanied immigrant children from Central America attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border The foreign minister of Honduras said that the situation should be treated as a humanitarian story and that more moral options to help the children should be considered. El Salvador’s foreign minister called on the U.S. to respect the rights of unaccompanied minors and to give them the right to due process today.

The majority of the foreign ministers' responses were in Spanish with simultaneous translation. close
