Louis Celli talked about efforts in Congress to address the health care crisis within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the American Legion’s expectations for new leadership at the VA. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including a telephone line reserved for veterans. Video clips were shown of Senate Vetarans' Affairs Committee Chair Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and of House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) speaking July 24, 2014, about legislation to deal with the VA. A video clip was shown of the July 22, 2014, hearing to confirm Robert McDonald as the secretary of the VA.
