James Scott Brady was an assistant to the president and White House Press Secretary for President Ronald Reagan. After nearly being killed and becoming permanently disabled as a result of the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan March 30, 1981, Mr. Brady became a supporter of gun control. He died August 4, 2014, at the age of 73.

A video clip was shown of him being presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award September 9, 1996, by President Clinton. An excerpt of remarks released by Nancy Reagan upon his death was also shown. close
