President Obama spoke with reporters and responded to questions at the closing news conference of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, held at the State Department. When asked about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict he said that he had “no sympathy” for Hamas, which had acted “extraordinarily irresponsibly” for the firing of rockets at Israeli population centers. Other topics included sanctions against Russia for interventions in Ukraine.
