Michael Herzog and Dennis Ross talked about the implications of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, the potential for a longer ceasefire, and the military and political issues at stake. Michael Herzog, who had just returned from Gaza, spoke at length about Hamas' intentions and explained his belief that staging a full war against Hamas was not in Israel’s best interest. Dennis Ross said focusing only on extending the ceasefire in Gaza ignored the nature of the conflict in the region, and added that Hamas' intentions were just “to fight.”
