Sue Castaneda talked about her book, The Hitching Post Inn: Wyoming’s Second Capitol, in which she looks at the history of the Hitching Post Inn in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was the place where legislators and lobbyists would sleep, eat, and debate issues. It is believed that many laws passed in Wyoming weren’t debated on the floor of the Wyoming Capitol, but at the Hitching Post Inn. Del Peterson, former manager of the inn, also talked about its history.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2014 LCV Cities Tour” in Cheyenne, Wyoming, from July 10-14 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments aired on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments aired on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
